This Privacy Policy describes how TrialScope ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our Chrome extension and web services at https://trialscope.cloud.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials (managed via Supabase Auth).

1.2 Usage Data

We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including:

Clinical trial searches and filters you apply
Studies you save to favorites
Filter presets you create
AI analysis requests (queries sent to our AI service)

1.3 Device & Browser Data

We may collect standard browser information including IP address, browser type, and operating system for security and analytics purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

Provide the Service: Process searches, apply filters, and deliver AI-powered analysis.
Cloud Sync: Sync your favorites, presets, and settings across devices (if you enable cloud sync).
Authentication: Verify your identity and manage your account.
Improvements: Understand usage patterns to improve the Service.
Communications: Send service-related notifications (status changes, quota updates).

3. AI & Third-Party Services

3.1 AI Processing

Your search queries and study data may be sent to third-party AI model providers (StepFun) for analysis. We do not use your data to train AI models without your explicit consent.

3.2 ClinicalTrials.gov

The Service accesses publicly available data from ClinicalTrials.gov (U.S. National Library of Medicine). We do not control or modify this data.

3.3 Supabase

Account data and cloud-synced content are stored using Supabase (a third-party cloud database service). Supabase's infrastructure is managed by Supabase Inc.

3.4 Payment Processing

Payment information is processed by our payment processor (Waffo). We do not store your credit card details.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Account credentials are managed by Supabase Auth. Cloud-synced data (favorites, presets) is stored in Supabase's secure cloud infrastructure.

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data with:

Service Providers: Supabase (database), StepFun (AI processing), Waffo (payments) — only as necessary to provide the Service.
Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights and safety.

6. Your Rights

Access: You can access your account data anytime through the extension.
Deletion: You may delete your account and all associated data by contacting longxx45@gmail.com.
Export: You can export your saved data (favorites, presets) at any time.
Opt-out: You may disable cloud sync in the extension settings.

7. Data Retention

Account data is retained for 90 days following account cancellation, then permanently deleted. Subscription and payment records may be retained longer as required by applicable law.

8. Cookies & Local Storage

The Service uses Chrome's chrome.storage API to store your preferences, favorites, and settings locally. We do not use traditional cookies for tracking. Cloud-synced data requires a Supabase session cookie for authentication.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email at least 14 days before the effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
